Laughing in(at) Synergy

You must be mental to go to a music festival to watch comedy? Right? Challenge Accepted!

Synergy Live is one of the bigger music festivals around the cape town region. But it isn’t all just drum and bass mixed with rock. There will also be a Comedy tent at the event organised by Comedia, who amongst other things, do Event Management, specialising in comedy. They have been making people laugh at Rocking the Daisies and Oppikoppi. So they aren’t new to the comedy scene in South Africa at all.

Synergy Live 2011 will bring a line up of epic proportions. Heavy weights in South African comedy will come together under one tent, for one weekend only. I know where I will be for most of this festival.

What more could you want? Louw Venter doing Afrikaans comedy? Since when? Dave Levinsohn making a return to Cape Town after leaving us a few years back for the more polluted grass of Jozi? Awesome!

I love that this is a chance for capetonians to see some of the comics from up north without having to travel too far. I for one am really excited for this event and my tickets are already booked. Will try and bring you as much behind the scenes as I possibly can or until security kicks me out.

Synergy is happening on the 25th to 27th of November with an array of local and international bands as well as dj's performing at three stages as well as the comedy stage. The event takes place at the Boschendal Wine Estate just outside of Franschhoek.
